Energy Storage Canada
Founded in 2016, Energy Storage Canada is a national, not-for-profit trade association dedicated to advancing the growth and market development of Canada’s energy storage sector. ESC supports the responsible development and deployment of energy storage through advocacy, education, collaboration, and research, as Canadian resources and global energy storage markets continue to expand.
ESC is technology-agnostic and represents a growing membership of 100+ organizations across the full energy storage value chain, including developers, technology providers, utilities, engineering and construction firms, service providers, professional services companies, and NGOs. Our members operate across Canada and internationally, reflecting the sector’s increasing global reach.
In an ever-changing policy, market, and technology landscape, ESC provides leadership opportunities, access to experts and government representatives, and forums to engage on national policy and regulatory issues shaping Canada’s energy storage market.

Regulatory Reform
Maintain engagement with regulators to continue to remove barriers to energy storage deployment in all jurisdictions and engage with energy stakeholders and policy makes to ensure government initiatives favor the deployment of storage
Grow & Develop
Industry Partnerships
Identify organizations with common goals to collaborate on points of intersection related to the development of Canada’s energy sector, particularly in relation to decarbonization and net-zero goals. Look for additional opportunities for the same with existing partners.
Advocate for Initiatives
Favorable
to Energy Storage
Advocate for specific initiatives favorable to the deployment of energy storage, including but not limited to, favorable tax incentives, the creation of a renewable energy credit, &/or a carbon tax mechanism to assign a value to GHG reductions owing to storage installations.
Education &
Engagement
Foster greater awareness and understanding of energy storage technologies, potential applications, and its benefits among energy stakeholders in Canada at all levels of engagement.
