Justin is a lawyer and senior energy sector leader with more than a decade of experience advancing energy policy, market frameworks, and government relations across Canada’s electricity landscape. Since becoming President of Energy Storage Canada in 2019, he has led the organization’s evolution into a nationally influential industry association, driving strategic membership growth, strengthening institutional capacity, and establishing ESC as the authoritative voice for energy storage in Canada.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and tireless commitment to the sector, Justin continues to advance the voice of energy storage across Canada and on the global stage. Under his leadership, ESC is helping advance the regulatory, market, and investment frameworks needed to accelerate energy storage deployment, supporting greater grid flexibility, long term reliability, and the infrastructure required for Canada’s evolving low emissions electricity system.
Justin holds an Honours BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto and a law degree from Western University.

Leone is a communications and engagement professional with extensive experience supporting Canada’s energy sector and not for profit organizations. Since joining Energy Storage Canada in 2021, she has played a central role in strengthening the organization’s communications, stakeholder engagement, and industry outreach efforts.
With more than fifteen years of experience in strategic development, project management, and event leadership across Canada, Leone brings a strong operational and strategic perspective to advancing ESC’s mission. She works closely with industry, government, and stakeholders to elevate understanding of energy storage and support collaboration across Canada’s evolving electricity system.
Leone is passionate about strengthening communication and education across the energy ecosystem to help accelerate the deployment of energy storage and support Canada’s broader energy transition.

Andrew is Senior Director of Policy and Government Affairs at Energy Storage Canada, where he leads the organization’s policy development and government relations activities across federal and provincial jurisdictions. With more than a decade of experience in the energy and environmental sectors, he brings deep expertise in electricity market policy, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining ESC, Andrew held roles with Bruce Power, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and the Government of Ontario, where he worked on energy, climate, and economic policy initiatives. Through his work at ESC, he supports the development of market and regulatory frameworks that enable energy storage deployment and strengthen Canada’s electricity system.
Andrew holds a Master of Public Policy and Public Affairs from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.

Senior Advisor, British Columbia Initiatives
Michelle is a senior energy and public policy leader with extensive experience advancing energy innovation, economic development, and electricity system planning. She served as British Columbia’s Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources from 2017 to 2020, and later as Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness.
During her time in government, Michelle played a key role in advancing major policy initiatives including British Columbia’s first zero emission vehicle mandate and oversight of significant hydroelectric infrastructure projects. Throughout her career she has been a strong advocate for renewable energy development, affordable utility rates, grid resilience, and energy innovation.
At Energy Storage Canada, Michelle brings her experience in government leadership and policy development to advancing the regulatory and market frameworks needed to support grid reliability and the continued growth of energy storage across Canada.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Peacebuilding and Human Security.

Elizabeth Cook is a communications and content development professional with more than a decade of experience advancing strategic messaging across media, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. As Communications Coordinator at Energy Storage Canada, she leads the organization’s content development, digital communications, and brand storytelling efforts.
Prior to joining ESC, Elizabeth held senior communications and content leadership roles where she developed integrated campaigns, managed high performing teams, and delivered strategies that strengthened brand presence and audience engagement. A former television news anchor, she brings strong journalistic discipline and storytelling expertise to translating complex industry developments into clear and compelling narratives.
Based in Kingston, Ontario, Elizabeth specializes in digital content strategy, brand development, public relations, and multi channel communications that support stakeholder engagement and sector growth.

Robert is Policy Manager at Energy Storage Canada, where he leads policy analysis and advocacy efforts across Alberta while contributing to federal and technical policy initiatives nationally. Since joining ESC in 2022, he has supported the organization’s work advancing regulatory and market frameworks that enable the growth of energy storage across Canada.
A Professional Engineer with experience in transmission line design, electricity markets, and energy storage integration, Robert brings strong technical expertise to ESC’s policy development work. He works closely with industry participants, regulators, and policymakers to support competitive electricity markets and strengthen Canada’s clean energy advantage.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and is a registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Jame is an events and stakeholder engagement professional with more than a decade of experience delivering programs across both the public and private sectors. As Coordinator of Events and Engagement at Energy Storage Canada, she leads the planning and delivery of industry events and supports initiatives that strengthen engagement across ESC’s national membership.
In her role, Jame works closely with industry partners to deliver conferences, events, and member programs that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across Canada’s energy storage sector. She also oversees CRM management and supports member engagement processes that help ensure a positive and consistent experience for ESC’s growing network.
Jame holds a Master’s degree in Communication from Manipal University and brings a thoughtful and organized approach to building meaningful industry connections.
