Call for Nominations: Energy Storage Canada

Post on behalf of Ka-Ming Lin, Secretary of the Board, Energy Storage Canada

November 23, 2016

Dear Members of Energy Storage Canada,

As Secretary to the Board of Energy Storage Canada (“ESC”), I am inviting you to submit nominations for the 2017 Board of Directors. Board positions are open to Corporate Members only and each Corporate Member may have no more than one seat on the Board with a designated representative. Self-nominations are accepted.

This is an important time to shape and strengthen the role of energy storage in Canada.  As our association addresses the issues and opportunities in our industry, we continue to grow in size and influence.  As a result, the 2017 ESO Board is expanding from its current eight (8) directors.  Our Board represents the diversity of our members including developers, manufacturers, contractors, utilities and service firms who are active in Canada’s energy storage sector.

Given the size of our organization, we are a working Board with the expectation that each Board member will contribute to our efforts beyond participation in Board meetings. The roles include Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary along with leading portfolios and committees including Membership Outreach, Conference and Events and Federal Government Initiatives.  The Board holds monthly meetings 11 times a year, alternating each month between in-person meetings and Board conference calls.

If you are interested in serving on the 2017 Energy Storage Canada Board please fill in the attached form and submit this information to the Secretary of the Board by 5:00pm EST on Wednesday, December 14th, 2015.   The information for Board candidates will be included in the 2017 AGM package materials. The AGM will be held on the morning of Thursday, January 26, and more details will follow.
